Caraga State University has officially sent ten (10) students to attend the Science Silpakorn International Summer School 2026 Program, held from June 8-12, 2026, at the Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, Sanam Chandra Palace Campus in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.
The delegation is composed primarily of third-year students. Nine are from the College of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology, while one is from the College of Education, pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science Education. The student participants include Jose L. Castroverde III, Aubrey Joyce L. Asube, Jarrah Melcah Bakiskisan, Irene Ciara Cuabo, Carlyn Janvi M. Fajardo, Jydzyl Kaye S. Aplaon, Mylzar Pauline C. Leop, Shane Louisse A. Malot, Shane Vacili B. Hinojales, and Joshua Anthony B. Singsing.
Accompanying the CSU contingent throughout the summer program is the Biology Department faculty member, Ms. Dawn Rosarie F. Orboc.
During the five-day program, the CSU students will be immersed in a specialized Biology Track. The curriculum focuses on key scientific objectives, allowing the participants to a) explore plant diversity through field and laboratory activities; b) learn to observe and identify flowering plants using floral diagrams and formulas; c) investigate floral pigments and plant-pollinator interactions; and d) create botanical arts through plant pressing and sun printing
The Science Silpakorn International Summer School 2026 offers international students a premier opportunity to explore advanced science education and cutting-edge research at Silpakorn University. In addition to academic rigor, the short-term program integrates excursions and cultural exchanges.
