The CSU–Technology Business Incubator (CSU-TBI), through its innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives and in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology–Caraga (DOST-Caraga), successfully conducted the Pagsanyog 2026: Startup Showcase and Pitching Competition on May 21, 2026, at the CSU HERO Activity Loft.
Pagsanyog 2026 served as a premier platform for student innovators to transform academic concepts into viable business ventures. Participants presented solutions addressing critical challenges in technology, engineering, agriculture, and aquaculture, fostering a culture of resilience and economic growth within the Caraga region.
For this year’s Pagsanyog 2026, there were three categories in which student innovators competed. These categories were Engineering and Technology, Agriculture and Aqua, and CSU-CC Startups. DOST-Caraga Regional Director Mr. Noel Ajoc, Mr. Dean Joshua Solis, PDO II, DICT Caraga, and Mr. Lord Bonie A. Danilas, Founder and CEO, Custard Apple Outsourcing Inc., were the invited panel of judges.
The winners for the Engineering and Technology Category were the Team TheraSpeech, composed of Lyndon Obenza, Kyr Djan Marimon, and Sam Joash Antonio, who won 1st Place. Geen Caille L. Malaguena of Team Abay won 2nd Place, while Team STREAM, composed of Nathaniel V. Abarca, Grant Christian J. Lucida, and Rammel P. Haya, won 3rd Place.
For the Agriculture and Aqua Category, John Michael Beringuel, Kenneth Schoene Lloyd Tajos, and Jaygeer Verona of Team GrowMate bagged the 1st Place. Team Siklo Richard by Vincent Gonzales, Princess Shayna O. Café, and Jean Martha B. Tello won 2nd Place, and Team CobeNut by Beyve Triskel Ello, Sophia Marie Manalo, and Rhea M. dela Peña secured 3rd Place.
In the CSU-CC Startups Category, Team Rabstix, composed of Lyn Harriet Abasolo, Lezlie Ann Abanco, and Jethro Jigs Abaya, won 1st Place, while the 2nd Place was received by Team CocoPeat with Grace Ann Millanes, Gilbert V. Ruiz, Jr., Joel Cañete Jr., and Charles Bryan Martinez. Team DefendValve Technologies, composed of Princess Grace J. Sombreyo, Regine V. Montero, and Daryl A. Tandog, and Team LUTAW, composed of Jowee Allen Bajaro, Belly Joe Engalan, and Joan Juevesano, tied for 3rd Place.
Pagsanyog 2026 stands as a testament to the transformative power of ideas and collaboration. Through these pitches, CSU students demonstrated not only technical skill but a profound commitment to sustainable community development. As CSU continues to champion entrepreneurship, these young innovators are poised to lead the way toward a more innovative and resilient future for Caraga.
