Caraga State University (CSU), through its Technology Business Incubation Unit (TBI) and Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO), successfully hosted the Innovation and Startup Fest 2026 on May 20, 2026, at the HERO Learning Commons Auditorium.

Anchored on the theme “From Idea to Impact: Research, Commercialization, and Startup Solutions for Today’s Challenges,” the fest served as a dynamic hub for innovators, industry leaders, and government agencies to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the Caraga Region.

The program opened with inspiring messages from university leadership, highlighting the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and societal transformation. The event was further enriched by a distinguished lineup of speakers and panelists who generously shared their expertise, experiences, and vision for the future of innovation in the region.

Dr. Vicente A. Pitogo, Vice President for Academic Affairs and the TBI Director, Dr. Riah E. Encarnacion, formally welcomed the distinguished assembly of experts and policymakers composed of the Regional Director of DOST-Caraga, Engr. Noel M. Ajoc, the Regional Director of DICT-Caraga Dir. Mario P. Cuñado, the Assistant Regional Director of DTI-Caraga, Ms. Brenda B. Corvera, CESO IV, and the Trade and Industry Development Specialist of DTI-Caraga, Ms. Eden Burnea. 

Also in attendance were the Program Manager of Wadhwani Foundation Philippines, Ms. Mary Rose Ofianga, MM; Project Development Officer of FSUU MOESIS TBI, Ms. Ara Calo; Mr. Francis John Saul M. Tin-ao, Founder and Lead Developer of Formiq.ph; Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Bank Officer IV, Ms. Glizriel Rose Z. Quijada; and Chief Executive Officer of BlackGold Food Corporation, Mr. Kieth Charles Bequibel.

Moreover, also in attendance to support the event were DTI Caraga Trade Industry Development Specialist, Mr. Ryan Kim P. Magsigay, and Mr. Dean Joshua Solis- PDO II of DICT Caraga. 

For the plenary sessions, Ms. Jenelyn Asis, MSc, ATBI-Tara Manager /IT Chair, and Mr. John Mark B. Correa, MSc, Incubation Program Head of Navigatu TBI, both skillfully served as panel moderators. 

The success of the Innovation and Startup Fest 2026 was made possible through the collective efforts of the organizing committee, partner agencies, university officials, students, and stakeholders who continuously champion innovation and entrepreneurship. Their commitment reflects a shared vision of transforming research and ideas into impactful solutions that address real-world challenges and contribute to regional and national development.

As the event concluded, participants left empowered with new knowledge, meaningful connections, and renewed motivation to pursue innovative ventures. The Innovation and Startup Fest 2026 stood as a testament to Caraga State University’s dedication to nurturing a vibrant culture of innovation, research, commercialization, and startup excellence, creating pathways for future innovators to transform ideas into lasting impact.
