Caraga State University (CSU) successfully conducted its Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Meeting on June 3, 2026, at the conference room of the administration building. CSU executives, headed by the University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, including the university officials, deans, directors, unit heads, and GFPS members, were in attendance to discuss key Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives and strategic directions for the institution.
Among the agenda items discussed were the presentation of the GAD Program and Training Development Unit (GPTDU) 2025 Milestones, updates on the Reconstitution of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) for the Main and Cabadbaran Campuses, CODI Case Management, Protection Against Discrimination and Inequality (PADI) initiatives. Also discussed were the use of GAD tools such as the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), Program and Project Implementation, Management, and Monitoring and Evaluation (PIMME), the approval of new office processes and forms, and the presentation of the 2026 GPTDU Programs and Activities. These were presented by Ms. Marjorie L. Escartin, CSU GAD Focal Person, who provided updates on the University’s continuing efforts to strengthen gender-responsive policies, programs, and governance mechanisms.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of the GADget Prototype by Mr. Nico Luminarias, GAD Training Coordinator. The proposed web-based learning and management system aims to enhance GAD learning, communication, engagement, and grievance support services through an integrated and accessible digital platform for the CSU community.
The body also discussed important institutional initiatives, including the establishment of Gender-Responsive Comfort Rooms and the proposed renaming of the Exemplary Juana Awards to the Hon. Elisa Rosales Ochoa Exemplary Women Awards.
Additionally, Engr. Stephanie Mae B. Salcedo-Albores, Chief of the Division of Strategic Foresight and Management, presented updates on United People Global (UPG) Sustainability and Leadership, highlighting CSU’s efforts to sustain institutional excellence, strengthen leadership commitment, and align strategic priorities with long-term development goals.
