Caraga State University (CSU) and the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XIII (ATI-RTC XIII) formally strengthened their commitment to agricultural innovation and digital transformation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement the Agri-Innovations Generating New Ideas and Technology for Excellence (Agri-IGNITE) initiative today, June 08, 2026, at the OP Conference Room.
The MOU was signed by Ms. Noemi Beth G. Macario, OIC-Center Director of ATI-RTC XIII, and University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil. The signing was witnessed by Jason Paul Dads E. Jampac, Chief of the Information Services Section (ISS) of ATI-RTC XIII; Dr. Jaymer M. Jayoma, Dean of the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS); and Dr. Riah E. Encarnacion, Director of the Technology Business Incubation (TBI) Office.
The partnership seeks to establish a collaborative framework that will harness the strengths of both institutions in advancing technology-driven solutions for the agriculture sector in the Caraga Region. ATI-RTC XIII, as the lead institution in agricultural extension and capacity development, will provide agricultural data, extension requirements, and field-level challenges, while CSU will contribute its expertise in information technology, systems development, research, and innovation through its CCIS and TBI Office.
Under the Agri-IGNITE initiative, both institutions will work together to develop digital platforms, mobile applications, and artificial intelligence-enabled systems to support farmers, fisherfolk, and agricultural stakeholders. The collaboration will also include conducting Agri-Tech workshops and boot camps, documenting and promoting innovative practices, integrating technical and agricultural resources, and engaging faculty members and students in research and development activities.
The initiative aims to accelerate digital transformation within the agricultural sector by promoting innovation, enhancing agricultural extension services, strengthening research collaboration, and creating sustainable technology-based solutions that address real-world challenges faced by farming communities.
