Caraga State University (CSU) formally turned over two major research and development (R&D) projects to the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) during the three-day project close-up held on August 17–19, 2026, at the Grand Palace Hotel in Butuan City.
The formally turned-over R&D projects were the Climate Resilience and Impact Assessment (CRIA) of Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) and the DA-BAFE Digital Transformation (DX) Roadmap. The two projects were designed to strengthen the planning, management, and sustenance of agricultural infrastructure through research, data, and digital innovation.
The CRIA-FMR Project developed a more evidence-based and climate-responsive approach to Farm-to-Market-Roads planning and prioritization, integrating agricultural productivity, socioeconomic development, climate resilience, environmental considerations, and infrastructure vulnerability. Meanwhile, the DA-BAFE Digital Transformation Roadmap provides the Bureau with a strategic direction toward a more integrated, secure, data-driven, and digitally enabled organization.
The occasion was made more significant by the presence of the CSU President, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, and Engr. Cristy Cecilia G. Polido, Director of DA-BAFE. Both projects were implemented through CSU’s College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) and housed at the Center for Human-Computer Interaction (CHCI), in close collaboration with DA-BAFE officials and technical personnel.
With the completion of two projects, the turnover signals the beginning of their institutional use and continued impact.
