CSU, CCAARRD welcome balik-scientist for final program visit

Caraga State University (CSU), through the Caraga Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (CCAARRD), welcomed Dr. Anthony B. Halog, a distinguished DOST-PCAARRD Balik Scientist, during a courtesy call marking the fourth and final phase of his engagement under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Balik Scientist Program. Representing CSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, the University’s Vice Presidents, together with CCAARRD Director Dr. Raquel M. Balanay, warmly received Dr. Halog to discuss the accomplishments of his engagement and explore opportunities for sustaining and expanding collaborative research initiatives.

The meeting highlighted the progress and future directions of circular economy initiatives in the Caraga Region, with particular emphasis on the ongoing Circular Bioeconomy (CBE) Project. Throughout his engagement, Dr. Halog has provided invaluable technical expertise, international perspectives, and strategic guidance in advancing sustainable resource management, innovation, and the integration of circular bioeconomy principles into regional research and development efforts.

As he concludes his Balik Scientist engagement, Dr. Halog’s contributions continue to reinforce CSU’s commitment to research excellence, sustainable development, and global collaboration. His expertise has helped strengthen local research capacities while fostering meaningful partnerships that support the University’s vision of creating science-based solutions for regional and national development.

Dr. Halog is scheduled to present his Exit Report on July 15, 2026, at Caraga State University, where he will highlight the accomplishments, outcomes, and impact of his Balik Scientist Program engagement and share recommendations for sustaining the initiatives established during his tenure.

Through collaborations with globally recognized Filipino experts such as Dr. Halog, CSU, and CCAARRD continue to advance innovation, internationalization, and sustainable development in support of the nation’s science and technology agenda.
