Caraga State University, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology – Agusan del Norte (DOST-ADN), has successfully concluded a three-day intensive MapX Technology Training for LGU Buenavista. The training, held at the Municipal Assessor’s Office, is a cornerstone of the Smart and Sustainable Communities Program under the Smart Governance pillar. It aims to empower local government units (LGUs) with advanced geospatial data management and analysis capabilities to ensure smarter, faster, and more transparent land administration.

MapX, a sophisticated geospatial data platform developed by CSU researchers, serves as a vital tool for visualizing and managing land and real property data and is considered an innovation for local governance. By transitioning from traditional methods to this digital platform, LGUs can leverage evidence-based governance to improve public service delivery.

During the three-day program, Municipal Assessor personnel engaged in hands-on technical training, mastering the MapX interface for real-time data analysis. On the final day of the workshop, participants conducted a field validation activity, providing practical exposure to real-world data-gathering and verification processes.

The CSU MapX team, led by Engr. Cherry Bryan Ramirez presented the latest platform enhancements and dataset integrations to LGU Buenavista Municipal Mayor Joselito T. Roble. The presentation highlighted how the technology streamlines administrative workflows and promotes data transparency.
