Caraga State University (CSU) and the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) have strengthened their commitment to advancing space science and technology applications through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) under the PhilSA Integrated Network for Space-enabled Actions towards Sustainability (PINAS) on August 11, 2026.
The agreement was formalized by Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, University President of Caraga State University, and Dr. Gay Jane Perez, Director General of PhilSA, with Dr. Michelle V. Japitana, Vice President for Executive Operations of CSU, Engr. Denis F. Villorente, Deputy Director General for Space Operations, Infrastructure & Industry of PhilSA, and Mark Edwin A. Tupas, Dr. techn., Director for Space Information Infrastructure Bureau of PhilSA, serving as witnesses.
Through this partnership, CSU and PhilSA will collaborate on satellite remote sensing, geospatial information, research and development, capacity building, data sharing, and the development of methodologies and tools for environmental and natural resource mapping and monitoring.
This collaboration marks another important step in CSU’s continuing commitment to harnessing geospatial technologies, space-based data, science, and innovation in addressing environmental, social, and developmental challenges in the Caraga Region and beyond.
Together, CSU and PhilSA advance space-enabled solutions for a more sustainable and resilient future.
