Another Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was sealed as five (5) executives from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) visited the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development, Innovation, and Extension at the CSU Main Campus for a benchmarking activity on June 20, 2025.

University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil personally welcomed the delegation and spearheaded the visit, following the ceremonial signing of the MOU, which had been planned prior to the engagement. In lieu of VP Dellosa, who is on a business trip to Istanbul, Turkey, for the Times Higher Education (THE) Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2025, Dr. Jaymer M. Jayoma and Dr. Junrie B. Matias represented his office.

Roundtable discussions on best research practices and publication management were held. The MOU signing then followed, with both institutions vowing to collaborate in promoting research and academic initiatives, as well as knowledge and resource exchange, pending the formal agreement of both parties.

Prior to this activity, both universities were recognized in the 2025 THE Impact Rankings as among the Top 3 in the Philippines, within the 601–800 global range.

Dr. Nathaniel Alibuyo, MMSU’s Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation, represented President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. during the ceremonial signing. Several MMSU officials also attended, including Vice President for Planning and Strategic Foresight Mee Jay Domingo, Research Director Dionisio Bucao, Social Development Research Center Chief Maria Cristina Pammit, Research Publication Office Chief Lea Agbigay, and CSU-Main Research, Development, and Innovation Director Dr. Jaymer M. Jayoma, who served as witnesses.

This collaboration is poised to further propel CSU’s influence in the research arena and strengthen its academic partnerships, and achieve its SDG Goals No. 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
