After a month-long visual art showcase, the university’s Cabadbaran Campus officially concluded LIKHABI on March 2, 2026, through a culmination activity organized by the Literary and Visual Arts Unit of the CSUCC Campus Center for Culture and the Arts (CSUCC-UCCA).

LIKHABI: Habi ng Katotohanan at Giting is a nationally recognized activity of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, featured on its list of activities for the National Arts Month celebration. The exhibit showcased a curated selection of student artworks, including those that qualified in international and national art competitions.

The culminating program was enriched by performances from various cultural and arts groups in the Cabadbaran Campus, including Kasikas Cultural Music Ensemble and the Sanggumay Dance Group. Campus Director, Dr. Deomila B. Mamaoag, and Professor Ma. Annie B. Mortola, were present to express their enthusiasm and appreciation for the first-ever installation of this nationally recognized activity at the Cabdbaran Campus.

For Ms. Ivy Y. Naptong, the newly designated Head of the CSUCC-UCCA and the curator of LIKHABI, the culmination was both a professional and personal milestone. Having desired to create a platform for arts such as this, she thanked the students, volunteers, and the administration for their collective efforts in realizing the project. She further expressed hope that LIKHABI would usher in more artistic showcases and enduring creative initiatives in the years ahead.

Meanwhile, the Main Campus also marked the National Arts Month through a four-week docuseries highlighting the passion, creative process, and people behind both thriving and emerging art scenes across both campuses. The films were produced by the CSU-Main’s Public Information and Communication Office.

The name LIKHABI is derived from the Filipino words likha (to create) and habi (to weave), symbolizing the gathering of outstanding student artworks, each a distinct thread, shaped by tradition, innovation, and fearless expression. Together, these works invite viewers to speak, reflect, and assert meaning through art.

True to its vision, Caraga State University continues to champion the arts by opening more spaces for creative expression, recognition, and support to shape a future where art stands on equal footing with science and engineering, defining academic excellence.
