Four third-year Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BS Psych) students from Caraga State University (CSU) successfully completed the 8th PSYCHE Summer Course program in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. Hosted by the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), the international program ran from July 13–18, 2026, with the students representing CSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHaSS).
The participating third-year BS Psych students were Ryhnbee Marry B. Badango, Roena Mae M. Cimafranca, Shamelah Louisse Corvera, and Noemi Rocile B. Palma. The team is accompanied by ChaSS Dean Dr. Shiela Badiang.
Two of the student delegates also took home special awards from the event. Badango won Best in Creative Video for her documentary-style submission showcasing the team’s program experiences. She also secured the Best in Batik Painting award during an educational tour at Klub Merby, one of Indonesia’s renowned cultural centers. Meanwhile, Palma received a special award for crafting the best Tumpeng, a traditional Indonesian ceremonial rice dish.
Carrying the theme, “Fostering Sustainable Wellbeing through Ecopsychology and Cultural Heritage,” the annual international summer course gathered students and academics worldwide to engage in intercultural exchange and collaborative discussions on sustainable wellbeing through the lens of psychology, nature, and cultural heritage.
The six-day program featured a combination of academic lectures by national and international speakers, interactive workshops, environmental field activities, cultural heritage visits, faculty and campus tours, and collaborative learning sessions. As an annual international initiative of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Diponegoro, the program provides participants with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through direct engagement with local communities and Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.
