As part of the observance of Father’s Day and Men’s Mental Health Month, the Gender and Development (GAD) Program & Training Development Unit (GPTDU) distributed “Panyo Para Kang Tatay” to fathers, father figures, and male personnel of Caraga State University on Monday, June 22, 2026.

While simple in appearance, the handkerchief carries a meaningful message. Men are often viewed as strong, dependable, and resilient individuals who are expected to carry responsibilities for their families, workplaces, and communities. However, behind this strength are personal struggles, worries, fears, and emotions that are not always openly expressed.

The “Panyo Para Kang Tatay” initiative serves as a reminder that it is okay for men to express their emotions, seek support, and prioritize their mental well-being. Strength is not measured by the ability to hide pain but by the courage to acknowledge challenges and reach out when needed.

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and father figures, and let us continue to champion mental health awareness not only this June but throughout the year!
