9 faculty from both campuses join international photovoltaic workshop in Taiwan; MOU signed

A total of nine faculty members from Caraga State University’s Main and Cabadbaran campuses participated in the Summer School on Photovoltaic Workshop held at Tatung University in Taipei, Taiwan, from June 16 to 27. University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil and Tatung University’s President Dr. Ming Guo-Her also formalized academic and professional collaboration between universities through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Representing the Main Campus are Engr. Edgardo Ricardo B. Sajonia, Jr., Engr. Alfred Dennis B. Balamad, and Engr. Charlemagne L. Cillo of the College of Engineering and Geosciences (CEGS). The Cabadbaran Campus delegation included Dr. Ritchfildjay L. Mariscal, Ms. Marisol Jane M. Beray, Professor Maria Annie B. Mortola, Professor Ma. Jovita C. Serrano, Mr. John O. Estillore, and Engr. Blondie T. Sanchez.
Sponsored by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, the program offered a comprehensive, hands-on approach to understanding photovoltaic (PV) technologies and their application in modern energy systems. Participants engaged in a well-balanced curriculum featuring expert-led lectures, technical training, and interactive sessions on topics such as PV microgrid design, AIoT-based smart energy systems, and carbon footprint verification.
In addition to technical training, CSU faculty were immersed in cross-cultural exchange, gaining global insights, building technological competencies, and fostering international cooperation in the field of renewable energy systems.
The practical inputs and outputs of this engagement are intended to be replicated to support the university’s ongoing promotion of SDG Goals 4 (Quality Education), 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 13 (Climate Action), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals) not only for the benefit of the university and its resources, but also for the communities it is committed to serving.│with reports and photos from CEGS
