TODAY, May 25 — Golden Paddlers from the College of Education emerged as the overall champion in the 2026 Knowledge Olympics of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) – Caraga held at the Activity Center of HERO Learning Commons.
These Golden Paddlers conquered three (3) of the four (4) game series by the agency through strategic team distribution and collaboration. The winning members from Game 1: Pitch Tank include Joshua Coralde, Rueanstar Anunciado, and Nathaniel Almedras. Baby Princes Nuer, Julienne Orozco, and Jericho Quimbo triumphed in the 60-Second Social Reel Challenge, while John Lyndon Lopez and Ravier Yu secured the college’s top spot in the Quiz Bowl. Other members included Emmanuel Lambarte and Manuel Evale.
Aside from taking home the Php 7,000.00 as the overall cash prize, the team also received additional prizes and awards for the individual competitions they conquered.
Following their rank are the Golden Paddlers from the College of Forestry and Environmental Science (1st Runner-Up) and the College of Agriculture and Agri-Industries (2nd Runner-Up).
The 2026 Knowledge Olympics is part of DEPDev’s strategy to further strengthen the promotion of its i2FAME through its Regional Development Council’s Communication and Advocacy Committee (RDC-CAC). i2FAME stands for “Industrialize and Innovate Fishery, Agro-forestry, Mining, and Eco-tourism,” which are considered Caraga’s strongest economic sectors.
The agency deems it fit to conduct academic-centered activities to embed the i2FAME agenda, spread awareness of regional development priorities, and encourage students to become advocates of economic and innovation concepts. Further, it also reflects DEPDev’s broader push toward an innovation-driven economy and a stronger culture of knowledge sharing.
