Hokkaido Museum delegates meet with University President Dr. Daguil

Caraga State University welcomed guests from Japan during a courtesy call with University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil on March 23, 2026, facilitated by Dr. Ian Niel B. dela Cruz, Head of the Department of Biology. The delegation included Dr. Masahiro Ohara (Hokkaido University Museum) and Dr. Shigehisa Hori (Hokkaido Museum), along with museum affiliates Dr. Tomoki Kikuchi and Mr. Junichi Fujita.

This marks Dr. Ohara’s second visit following his participation in last year’s MUSEOTalk on museum operations and collections management. Discussions focused on continuing collaboration, including a proposed student mobility program this June, where BS Biology students may undergo training in museum work and entomological curation in Sapporo, Japan.

The visit highlights CSU’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing museum and biodiversity research.
