Caraga State University conducted ISO 9000: 2015 Internal Quality Audit Training and ISO 9001: 2015 QMS Awareness Seminar-workshop to CSU Key Officials and select office personnel on January 22-24, 2018 at the CSU Organic Agriculture Training Center (OATC).
In 2017, CSU was granted its first ISO Certificate Number AJA 17-1018, for having accomplished the requirements for ISO 9001-2008 certification. This 2018, CSU aspires for another ISO certification which is higher than the first one. CSU lead by University President Anthony Penaso wants to ensure that CSU continuously work for its journey to excellence.
ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
ISO 9001 Certification will give an organization the quality systems that will provide the foundation to better customer satisfaction, staff motivation and continual improvement.
Some of the benefits of ISO to an organisation are: providing senior management with an efficient management processes. It sets out areas of responsibility across the organisation; mandatory if you want to tender for some public sector work; communicates a positive message to staff and customers; identifies and encourages more efficient and time saving processes; highlights deficiencies; reduces costs; provides continuous assessment and improvement; and marketing opportunities.
Some of the benefits to clients or customers include: Improved quality and service; delivery on time; right first time attitude; fewer returned products and complaints; independent audit demonstrates commitment to quality.
