Ms. Karen B. Burdeos a faculty member of the mathematics department, College of Arts and Sciences presented a paper entitled “Climate Change Scenarios for Surface Temperature in Agusan del Norte, Philippines using a Statistical Downscaling Technique, during the 13th International Conference Inter University Cooperation Program held at University of Miyazaki, Japan on July 8-12, 2017.
CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso attended the Philippine Higher Education Career System (Phil-HECS) Presidential Leadership Program (PLP), Course 6: Managing Self and Working Towards One's Full Potential on June 26 to 27, 2017 at Berjaya Hotel in Makati City. Phil-HECS shouldered the seminar expenses and hotel accommodation while the travel and transportation costs are that of the participating SUC counterpart.

Caraga State University (CSU) got a message from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) that CSU is one of the ten (10) State Universities and Colleges in the Philippines recommended for Performance Based Bonus (PBB) pay-out on June 19, 2017.
The Caraga Environmental Advocate Society (CEAS), a program-based student organization of Caraga State University conducted the project “BalikEskwelaPahalipay 2017” in Dalao-an Elementary School, Brgy. Rizal, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte on June 5, 2017. A total of 140 elementary students from grade 1 to 6 were given school supplies, like paper, pencil, crayons, plastic envelope, two notebooks and a slipper.

Caraga State University underwent a three-day Internal Quality Audit Training on May 29-31, 2017 at the Big Daddy Hotel and Convention Center organized by ASC Management Systems Consultancy.
The office of the Vice President for Research and Extension, headed by Dr. Rowena P. Varela spearheaded the revision of the CSU Research and Development Manual on May 22, 2017 at the CSU Conference Room. Advancements, innovations and initiatives are so dynamic that a change to the manual is needed to properly address certain issues.
May 20, 2017, approximately more than two hundred people attended and joined the 2017 CSU Alumni Homecoming. Some city tourism officers also came by to witness the event. On May 19, 2017 from 6 to 10 in the morning, the alumni had its first part of alumni bonding through forest bathing, trash picking, waste segregation, poetry reading walk, tree caring and tree hugging with poetry reading under the beautiful huge trees of the CSU Eco-park.
On May 20, 2017, the Caraga State University Alumni Association Inc. (CSUAAI) elected its new set of officers. Mr. Gerry Joey S. Laurito and Mr. Nilo Y. Villamor were elected President and Vice President respectively. The new set of CSUAAI officers are the following:
