CSU is recognized by the Accrediting Association of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) as five top ranking SUC in the country because of CSU’s vibrant quality assurance service.

Caraga State University on its university day celebration and commemoration of Proclamation No. 4 launched and awarded the first Governor General Francis Burton Harrison Achievement Award on February 14, 2017 at the Sanchez Gymnasium of CSU. The launching and awarding were done after the State of the University Address (SUnA) of CSU President Anthony M. Penaso.

Penaso was chosen by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) and the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) to attend a Presidential Leadership Program (PLP) in Japan on January 22-28, 2017 to be implemented by the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo with focus on industrial engineering.
