Despite the persisting perils of the COVID-19 pandemic in the University, the Records Management Office under the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance successfully conducted a two-day virtual Seminar-Workshop on Archives Administration last June 22-23, 2021, via Google Meet.
The said activity was participated by Records Custodian from different offices/units. The participants were strategically trained by batch as scheduled. Thirty one (31) participants comprised Batch 1 for the first day (June 22, 2021) and 34 participants formed Batch 2 for the second day (June 23, 2021).
With CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso and Dr. Armie Leila Mordeno at the helm, the staff of the RMS managed to hit the identified goals of the seminar-workshop through the inputs of the speaker, Mr. Edelmar Juranes, Jr., former Records In-charge of the Caraga State University.
Identifying Records, Inventory, Disposal, Endorsement of Records, and Records Management Table were given focus in the discussion. Each topic gave the participants the chance to discuss, collaborate, and present their output.
Strategic Records Management is very important in cost cutting measures as well as in the thoroughness and order of the RMS. The activity also adheres to the government’s mandate on the conduct and disposal of records, known as the Republic Act 9470 (National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007). AP/OVPAF/pico
